intervention by things like, removal of mark-to-market, strict regulation of OTC derivatives, suspension of naked-short selling, removal of dark-pools etc. basically a big financial regulatory reform. interest rate intervention is long overdue, but the fed will probably keep rates low until next year some time.

sorry that i do not update my socialpicks more frequently, but i've moved more into thinking that the economy with be further inflated with the cheap money being given out by the fed. i feel that we won't have another collapse in asset prices until there is "intervention" in the system. when i mention intervention, i am talking about policies that have the historical ability to change the w...

i do not expect earnings season this fall to be anything spectacular, however cost-cutting could help their earnings (layoffs etc). overall, i'd still be cautious entering long positions that are not commodity related shares. in terms of consolidations, i expect it to be a regular healthy one. the sky won't fall until the banks are forced to eat massive losses on their derivatives trades. i...

never in my lifetime have i witnessed a stock hold up against a tsunami wave of selling. this year is going to be a bad one so be careful of long-term buying. further discounts may be well on their way. i would wait until later this week or early next week before looking to take a long position.
