VeraSun Energy files voluntary petitions for relief under chapter 11 to enhance liquidity - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - VeraSun Energy Corp. (VSE) said on Friday that it and 24 of its subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for relief under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to enhance liquidity while they reorganize.
During the chapter 11 proceedings, VeraSun intends to resume normal operations. The company has taken steps to ensure continued supply of product to its custome
Target: 10.00 VeraSun Energy Corporation engages in the production and sale of ethanol and its co-products in the United States. Ethanol is primarily used as a blend component in the gasoline fuel market. The company's ethanol co-products include wet and dry distiller grains with solubles, which are used as animal feed; and corn oil that is used as an animal feed, as well as to produce biodiesel. It also markets VE85, an ethanol blended fuel through arrangements with gas distributors and retailers. The company was founded in 2001 and is based in Brookings, South Dakota.
Ethonal is a bogus alt energy. In time we will look back and laugh at the idea of using this inferior product. The only thing to keep it a float is government conctracts/mandate. The only thing draggin it down is production cost, rising cost of corn, lack of fuel effienciey, general move away towards BETTER alt energies... (the list goes on)
The fact is there are some instances where ethanol can be proven to be beneficial (e.g. in a drink), and VSE's going to be a big part of the mix. This is on the verge of a reversal of trend once again, and can not be ignored.

The mistaken policy and debates are endless, the trades are what I am chewing on instead. I think consumers of corn at lower prices a
