Shares of $440 million (market cap) Internet TV technology maker UT Starcom (UTSI) are up 33 cents, or 10.4%, at $3.50 today, on no obvious news, and no ratings changes. Hamed Khorsand, with BWS Financial, who raised the stock to a “Buy” from a “Hold” last week, says there’s no obvious reason he can see for the bounce. UTStarcom (UTSI) this afternoon said that CFO Fran Barton is retiring, effective August 31. He is also vacating his seat on the company’s board. Viraj Patel, corporate controller and chief accounting officer, will be the interim CFO while they seek a replacement.

Also, the company said that David King, SVP for international sales and marketing has resigned effective August 29. The company said it will announce a replacement for King “in the short term.”

UTSI did not give a reason for either departure.
