Toyota not that great - only makes a small number of electric cars (which still pollute), other companies also make them (Honda) and the company is also going to get hit due to declining sales from credit crunch Graphic_rating_sell TM

Toyota is a large automotive manufacturer who often get people to buy their cars mainly by either using refi loans or (relatively) high interest auto loans.  Since the cost of borrowing capital is going to be higher, are sales not going to be hit hard? Has it not gone unnoticed that other, newer companies like Kia Motors are taking away Toyota's market share, just like Toyota took the American Big Three's market share in the 70's.  Has it not gone unnoticed that the share price has sank 20% in the last 12mths?

I am also sceptical of Toyota's insistence on squandering so much money ...

As oil price goes up (slow economic growth), people may turn to small and or oil-efficient cars. Japanese cars stand out. TM is always a leader in developing petrol-friendly cars. It a long-term investment.
