As Obama prints money like Bush did, since they are pretty much the same party these days, American savers will lose money owning long-dated T-bills and cash. In the short run, cash is good, but cash is short-dated T-bills not long-dateds. The cure for the cancer is less lending, and that means higher interest rates on house-buying debt equivalents. The federal gov't, on the other hand, tries ignorantly to spur lending which is the exact wrong thing to do. Let bad companies and foolhardy families crash, the market, charities will come to their aide much more efficiently than taxing ...

$TNX broke one year old downtrend. Our optimistic target is 4.2 which is accidentally about equal to the annual inflation rate in the US. Due to the inflation Bond traders left on the table the whole interest over 2007. Considering the size of the bond market i can say only "Well done" to the Fed and Treasury.

TLT-TBT Pair - Adjustment

Since the TLT-TBT pair trade is synthetically equivilent to a Naked Short Strangle on TLT, which is a completely different strategy from my normal CC/CSP positions, I've decided to keep it as a separate position, rather than merge it into my long term TLT position as I originally planned. By keeping it separate, I can better judge how this particular strategy is performing.
