The great market rally of 2009 has antisipated a recovery that has not come. The disconnect between what is supposed to happen and what has happend is massive. In the end, reality and price cross. The Fed has only eased liquidity for the banks and corporations. The consumer is slowly being choked by a lack of liquidity.and this is a consumer driven economy. I can't see how we do not go back to the old lows. The worst is yet to come.

Today's technical outlookMonday was a day of crosscurrents and even though late buying recovered some of the earlier losses, it was the first loss in five days -- leaving the bulls wondering if the buying had reached its apex.

The Dow dropped below 8,000 yesterday, but that might not be as significant as the overdone internal indicators on all of the major indices. These indicators tell us when markets are overbought or oversold based on historically relevant studies.

The market was unable to move higher today. We are probably due for a short-term pullback over the next several days.  The S&P 500 closed at 784.04 down 10.31 (1.3%).  If the S&P 500 breaks below 760, we could see a move down to 740.  After this next pullback we should see a rally back to 8,000 on the Dow and 800-820 on the S&P 500.  The Russell 1000 & 2000 should perform similarly.

Options expiration is tomorrow so any move up or down will be affected by this event.  Next week will decide the extent of this short-term market pullback.

market moving, may swing up short ETF’s don’t make it when the market returns to the bull. Take the gains and run. This is not the time to be in ETF’s. Good time to buy those great stocks, which were hurt during the down turn.
