SandRidge is in a great position.  They are a diversified player with their hands in natural gas as well as oil and gas operations and exploration.  News broke recently about some very peculiar Sep 80 call volume on the options exchanges.  While it could mean nothing, I'm going to take it as a big fat hint that we're looking at a minimum of 20% more gains on this stock over the next several months.  You can read about the options volume here .

Forest Oil Corp. (FST) recently entered into a definitive agreement with SandRidge Exploration and Production LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SandRidge Energy Inc., (SD) to sell the remainder of its Permian Basin properties in West Texas and New Mexico for approximately $800 million. In August 2009, Forest had sold certain operated and non-operated properties in these areas for approximately $118 million.

    A few years ago we drove to Big Bend National Park (a stunningly beautiful place) through the wild, arid terrain of west Texas. En route I noticed operating oil and gas wells as we neared the park.

    At the the time I didn't know it, but this is a prime drilling area for SandRidge Energy (SD), operating from their Fort Stockton field office. SandRidge is drilling and producing in the Pinon field in the heart of the geological formation known as the West Texas Overthrust ((WTO)).

    The energy stocks actually started the day halfway ok. But above you can see hedge fund liquidation 101 on a 1 day chart This is 15 minutes delayed - the stock is actually down another 4% in the last 15 minutes.... It really does not matter what your thesis is or was, when the margin clerk comes calling. Chesapeake Energy (CHK) along with Sandridge Energy (SD) were among the 2 biggest positions of many of the best and brightest funds.
