FUND SUMMARY The investment seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, which correspond to twice the inverse of the daily performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Consumer Services index. The fund normally invests 80% of assets in financial instruments with economic characteristics that should be inverse to those of the index. It may employ leveraged investment techniques in seeking its investment objective. The fund is nondiversified.

These days it is hard for anyone to be credible when they say they know what is going to happen next. I am no different. I have a view and for now it is working but that doesn't mean it will tomorrow. I am happy to tell everyone what I think and they are free to agree or disagree. My premise is a simple one but it isn't a happy one. So you may sleep better if you just hit the delete key now. In my view, the problem we all face is a big one. The US like the rest of the world is over leveraged. As anyone who has ever lost their butts trading stocks on margin knows when times are great l...

Bad market times are great times for stocks which bet against various indexes in the stock market, I have compiled a list of the stocks that do well when the index does not. If you have the ability to do a lay over chart you can see that the stocks listed below each index, they rely on that index doing badly, who says you cant make money in a bad market. These stocks will produce as long as the bear market holds, my best guess is til about september. <> Even in a bad market some days the market does well and these stocks drop in price, I>...

Filed under: Major movement, Newsletters, Mutual funds, S and P 500, DJIA, Stocks to Buy "We see the growing risk of a watershed decline very soon," warns Martin Weiss, editor of The Safe Money Report. For those looking to speculate on a downside move, or to hedge an otherwise long portfolio, the advisor looks at several inverse ETFs which benefit from a drop in stocks. "With a new, potentially bigger wave of the credit crisis sweeping Wall Street, and with the latest energy price surge gutting corporate profits, the U.S. stock market is poised to suffer a far sharper and deeper decline. <>"Our>...

Week 45 performance of the mutual fund
Comments: Egads - yet another rally in the last 30 minutes of a session? What is this 6 of the past 10 sessions a magical rally appears in the same time frame, during a market trending quickly down? All random chance I'm sure. This was a very interesting week; after sucking some serious wind last week the indexes were down most of the week but with the help of magic in the last 30 minutes Friday went from being down nearly 1% for the week to flat. Magic. Get some. I need to start selling all my short exposure every day at 3:30 PM. However, under t...

A few retailers are doing ok on "not as bad as terrible expectations,"
but as I keep repeating, anything levered to the US consumer is asbestos
in your portfolio. This sector has rebounded smartly on the "2nd half
recovery" thesis along with the "rebate checks will save everything"
thesis (even though most of that rebate check is now going to food or
gas). I wrote on the weekly earnings roundup <> Dicks Sporting Goods (DKS) <>- This is a Wall Street favorite this is exactly the type ofproduct that a poorer America will have to cut back spending on. Maybenot this earnings period, but over t>>...

The investment seeks daily investment results which correspond to twice the inverse of the daily performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Consumer Services index. My timing has been terrible on this investment, but the thesis is still sound. The U.S. consumer is tapped out. Unfortunately, the top 10 holdings of the index have held up extremely well. Companies like WalMart, Disney, and McDonald's have proven why they're world-class companies.

market moving, may swing up short ETF’s don’t make it when the market returns to the bull. Take the gains and run. This is not the time to be in ETF’s. Good time to buy those great stocks, which were hurt during the down turn.

This pick is similar to a number of other ones I made today to prove to myself that during a bad market time there are stocks that rally on a sour market and can turn a buck, the trick is knowimg when the market bottoms out and get these stocks out before they drop in value. I explain this in little more detail in my blog.
