VeriFone Holdings (PAY) this afternoon posted better-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter ended July 31. For the quarter, the electronic payments company reported revenue of $211.2 million, down from $256.7 million a year ago, but up from $211.2 million in Q2, and above the Street at $202.2 million. Non-GAAP EPS of 26 cents a share was well ahead of the Street at 18 cents.
