But this upcoming year there will be a new trick that gets added... not predictable at all because it has never happened with this stock (yet.) The Walt Disney Company (DIS) recently reported fourth-quarter 2009 results, posting mid-single digit growth in both top and bottom lines. Total revenue for the quarter climbed 4% year-on-year to $9,867 million. The quarterly earnings of 46 cents a share outdid the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 41 cents and jumped 5% from 44 cents delivered in the prior-year quarter. The better-than-expected results followed strong results from its Media Networks segment and effective cost management. Marvel Entertainment Inc. (MVL), a character-based entertainment company engaged in the licensing, publishing and film production businesses, recently reported third-quarter 2009 results. The quarterly earnings of 26 cents a share bettered the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 24 cents but fell sharply by 59.4% from 64 cents delivered in the prior-year quarter.
