ot all companies need to innovate to be great, but the vast majority need to be able to read the market, react, and be ahead of long-term trends. GE definitely has those things going for it; I'd venture to say that McDonald's (NYSE: MCD ) displays a similar ability to adapt. Let's invest with companies that can zig and zag, when others have cement feet. <> <> Analysts' Recommendation: | Buy | <> 30 Days Ago: | Buy | >>>...

Cheap Eats! Analyst Finds McDonald’s Irresistible At 14 P/E Posted by Bob O'Brien McDonald’s (MCD) is as cheap as it’s been in six years, throws off lots of cash, has been gobbling up market share off its under-performing challengers, and is about to hit some catalysts that could re-energize a stock that’s been in something of a year-long funk. Deutsche Bank boosted its rating on shares of the fast-food operator to a buy from a hold. That’d be the same Deutsche Bank that lowered its rating on the stock last summer, when shares traded at just under $60 a share before going into a period<>>...

Yeah, I know, boring but a safe investment that probably has limited upside potential but makes up for it with dividends.

Disney directors get a raise…
The Walt Disney Co. filed its 10-K yesterday and this exhibit in the filing caught our attention. <>As the exhibit notes, Disney’s 11 outside board members received a raise from $65K a year to $80K a year. Granted, in terms of annual retention fees for companies of Disney’s size, $80K doesn’t seem unusually high. But that’s really just the base salary, so to speak. There’s a lot of additional pieces to the overall comp, that, when you check the proxy filed last year, has most directors earning around $200K annually. Among the mix-ins, so to speak, is a $10K fee per committee, $84K in>...
