I have been overall very pleased with this stock. Given the nature of the global economy, especially in developing nations, there is a large potential to cash out on companies based in emerging economies. Infosys is a great example of these types of companies. When I was in India two years ago, a gentelman suggested I look into Infosys. They primarily work in banking technology and when I bought them they were at about $35. Granted they are not currently as high as they once were, but I am still in the black and am confident in an even greater rebound.

This company has a huge potential business, currently trades at a P/E of 32 and has solid business fundamentals. It is growing at an unbelievable pace. Originally from India, it is opening up businesses in all parts of the world where it can find cheap manpower, which is good for the company in the long run. They recently upped their annual projections, and likely would grow at 70% yoy !! The recent downside has been because of the falling of Dollar value vs the Rupee (from ~Rs44/Dollar to ~Rs40/Dollar, and that has reached the support levels already. I can't find any reason why this compan...
Infosys (NasdaqGS:INFY) released the latest numbers and beat expectations when calculating in rupee's. I do not calculate in rupee's. Readers probably do not calculate in rupee's. Infosys work force may eventually stop calculating in rupee's.
The outsourcing thing has been very successful. However it now has changing dynamics. The revenue drivers are overall IT spending and FX ratios (if currencies are allowed to trade freely). The cost drivers continue to be local labor costs and FX ratios. Another contract or two will probably not change shareholders opinion of this very high PE ra...
...but like they say "The best time to do something is NOW !" ....I'd say Grab some INFY while it has dipped just a teeny-weeny bit.
Some months back I could've got INFY for 36...yes 36...but the cheapskate in me says "I think its gonna dip a little...how about we put a limit order of 35 and keep it square"
Well it never came to 35...and the trail it blazed went down in History.
Later my arrogance stopped me from buying it at a price more than I could've bought it for...but I guess now I've accepted & embraced my impaired foresight wholeheartedly...hence jumping on the bandwagon while I st
My 5 yr estimate of INFY is that it can be as high as $121. Low could be $25.
This gives an upside downside ratio from the current price of $46.8 of 3.4 to 1 and an annual appreciation of 21%
