Everyone needs a hero in life and mine is a real HERO. Founded in 2004 as Hercules Offshore, LLC and changed its name to Hercules Offshore, Inc. in 2005. Hercules Offshore, Inc. is based in Houston, Texas. The company serves integrated energy companies, independent oil and natural gas operators, and national oil companies. As of March 31, 2008, it owned a fleet of 35 jackup rigs, 27 barge rigs, 3 submersible rigs, 1 platform rig, a fleet of marine support vessels, and 60 liftboat vessels, as well as operated 5 liftboat vessels owned by third parties. <> <> <> >>>...

When simply looking at the fundamentals this company is greatly undervalued in comparison to it's peer. The oil services sector in general will be booming for the foreseeable future I believe. As the world demand for oil steadily outpaces supply the services of companies will surely be needed to exploit deposits which were previously unfeasible. There is a risk of HERO facing difficulties with the acquisition of THE, time will tell.

The Oxen Report: Jobless and Home Sales to Make…or Break Thursday
<>What a day for us yesterday in the Oxen Report<>. Second day in a row that we were able to make money off both of our buy pick of the day and the short sale. For our buy pick of the day, we went with ERY. We wanted to play the commodities market and buy the Direxion Daily Energy ETF that corresponded with the crude inventories. If inventories were rising, then it was bad for the price of oil, and we would want to buy ERY. Crude inventories rose by over 2 million in the past week, and this sent the price of oil plummeting. We picked up ERY right as the news came out for a price of 13.86><><>>><>><><>>><>><><>>>><>><>><>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

Stock picks and pans for troubled times: Buy Apple, Kroger, General Mills
Filed under: Stocks to Buy, Stocks to Sell Wondering what to do with your portfolio now? If you have some extra cash -- and a brave heart -- this could prove a good time to buy stocks, since they've been pounded so mercilessly.
Some investors have made great money this week on terrific calls that could have gone either way. But these were mostly short-term, high-risk trades. I'd recommend individual investors stay true to the familiar mantra: Buy what you know, buy solid companies with healthy balance sheets and strong cash positions, buy for the long term and don't fret timing so much.
