Earlier this afternoon I decided that I could no longer 'take the heat' from Graham (GHM), which fundamentally is a terrific company, but which is trading in a very volatile fashion along with the price of oil.Â

As part of my continued effort at sharing with all of you readers my actual trades in my actual trading account, I wanted to let you know that this morning, shortly after the opening, I sold 15 shares of my 105 share position of Graham (GHM) at $86.00/share. Grahm (GHM) continued to do well
GHM has a current Value of $99.01 per share. Therefore, it is undervalued compared to its Price of $78.85 per share . Value is computed from forecasted earnings per share, forecasted earnings growth, profitability, interest, and inflation rates. Value increases when earnings, earnings growth rate and profitability increase, and when interest and inflation rates decrease (Growth to P/E Ratio): GPE is another popular measure of stock valuation. It compares earnings growth rate to P/E ratio. GHM has a GPE rating of 1.55 . High growth stocks are believed to be able to ju...

Today's stock selection: GHM Focus: Growth I ve been researching for a while on GHM and found some references that affect my decision to pick this stock today. There are also other key statistics which make this stock attractive.

I wrote Friday about my decision to make what I call a "lateral" move, selling my IHS stock (IHS) and buying 105 shares of Graham Corp. (GHM). Graham is actually an 'old friend' of mine having first written about Graham October 27, 2007, at a split-adjusted price of $46.60, on the suggest

Earlier today I found that my latest stock purchase, Graham Corp (GHM) had hit a sale point on the downside and I sold my 210 shares at $41.34. These shares had just been purchased on 1/10/08 at a price of $46.27. Thus, my loss on these shares worked out to $(4.93)/share or
With my partial sale of Meridian (VIVO), I now had a 'permission slip' to be looking for another position to add to my trading account. Especially at just 10 positions, I use a sale of a portion of an existing position within the account as a signal that moves me towards the 20 position maximum. My minimum holdings number 5 but I haven't gotten that close to that level yet. In that case, even with a sale on bad news, I would be entitled to add a new position as long as it 'qualified.'
With that nickel burning a hole in my pocket, I went right away to the top % gainers list. Lately,

I am very fortunate to have readers like Doug S., who regularly drops me a line with mostly great ideas and comments. I cannot answer all of his emails, and I look forward to his and any you may write, just drop me a line at bobsadviceforstocks@lycos.com if you would like to email me.
Doug generally seems to invest and pick stocks much in the same fashion as I have been doing. He wrote me an email this morning about a stock that I believe deserves a spot on this blog. He wrote:

Hey everyone thanks for reading my blog. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Its been awhile since I last posted on here and I apologize for that. Work has been busy and I have been studying for the Certified Equities Professional test, (CEP) for the last few weeks as well. However I thought I should get back to it and start posting more.
