Bad market times are great times for stocks which bet against various indexes in the stock market, I have compiled a list of the stocks that do well when the index does not.
If you have the ability to do a lay over chart you can see that the stocks listed below each index, they rely on that index doing badly, who says you cant make money in a bad market. <o:p> </o:p>

These stocks will produce as long as the bear market holds, my best guess is til about september. <o:p> </o:p>

China has posted consistent growth and will likely post another positive growth this year.  So what does that mean for the stocks?  I say the market is bubbling, if not only because of the high PE ratios and growth expectations, but also the slowing US and world economy will likely expose an over-capacity of factories and manufacturing.  So it might be high time right now to gain some leverage when this giant stumbles.  Caveat emptor: shorting China in the long run is foolish to the extreme, so once the bubble is popped, FXP will tank.  But enjoy the ride while it lasts!

The buying frenzy was crazy last year. Now they talk about their own subprime writedowns: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/bizchina/2008-01/21/content_6409... It's possible that bad news will follow. Chinese don't like to talk about failures in public. Foreign banks now have permission to list in China, which will tighten the competition for local banks. I stole this from Charles Schwab. I hate cut and paste idiots.. Now I'm one of them.
The reason I bought is two fold. 1) Citbank is giving new hope to the market - partially why this fell so much today 2) The bond insurers are crashing two days in a row. Something is seriously wrong. Could it by the Arab was trying to save his own stock in Citi?
