No more personal checks or money orders PERMITTED by eBay as payment for items purchased on their site as of Oct 20 and finalized by Jan, 09. 10% of my business is too much to lose at the moment, or ever. Is eBay aware of the state of the economy? Bye, bye eBay!
EBAY is undervalued, looking only at valuation relative to its industry, especially when looking at PEG.

* EBAY has a projected earnings growth rate of 14.09% * EBAY has a PEG of 0.83 * EBAY's Industry (Catalog & Mail Order Houses) has an average Projected PEG of 2.67 * Implies a Projected Stock Price of $72.60 * EBAY is not being given credit for its projected earning growth rate
Obviously, anyone who is stuck with this stock will be trying to make a case for keeping it. Unfortunately, the whole site has been crippled with incompatible interface changes, and technical glitches that have demolished it's new rating concepts and a bi-polar decision making process in their policies division. They will never be Amazon, they were best when they were just being Ebay.Sell now if you bought at 24 a few weeks ago! It's not too late!
eBay can only rise from here. The stock hasn't been battered a lot in the crash at the stock markets. The year low is $25.10 and the high is $40.73. In the next year, I would rate the stock pretty high and very close to its year high. The reasons are simple. eBay has been exploring new markets. They have eBay India and they have PayPal which is very popular. Even though there are competitors to PayPal, their service has been the best till now. eBay has also opened up a new regional portal called Kijiji. They call it the rural marketplace and I have worked on the project. I really think this...
The initial read from the Street is fairly predictable. One, the thinking is that the stock will rally Tuesday morning on anticipation of more change to come. Two, there will be renewed speculation that, with Yang exiting stage left, Microsoft(MSFT) might try again to buy either the Yahoo search business or the entire company. And three, there will be plenty of speculation on who will take over Yang’s job.
This is the fourth in a four part series which I hope gives buyers, sellers, shareholders and dare I say management a platform for discussion.
This week I envisioned an eBay (NASADQ: EBAY) without Skype, eBay Motors and Paypal. Everything goes to the highest bidder, excluding handling and delivery of course.
While EBay might benefit from selling Skype and Motors, considering they might be worth more to others like Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO)
Well, I for one never know what to make of a day like this one, with the market jumping back and forth over the flat line before staging one of those crazy end of the day runs that have become so much a part of the current market pattern. The Nasdaq Composite finished at the high for the day, up 97.49, or 6.5%, to 1596.70, and 168 points above the day’s low. The other major indexes had similar gains, with the Dow up 552 points, or 6.7%, to 8835, or 900 points above the low for the day, after briefly dropping below the 8000 level.
It sure is tempting to think that we’ve set a sustainable bott

Now that I have unloaded Skype from eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) in Tuesday's post, Serious Money: eBay should auction off Skype, it's time to move on to an asset that is not losing money, eBay Motors, but may be of more value to one of its competi...
