After a strong start on Monday, we spent the next four days trading around and ultimately finishing up at the same exact level where we closed back on Monday:

S&amp;P 500: 10 Day View

With Monday's big gain, the S&P 500 gained +2.26%, Dow +2.46%, Nasdaq +2.62%, and the Russell 2000 +1.02%. To make the big money this week being long real estate (DRN), semiconductors (USD), emerging markets (EDC), basic materials (UYM), agriculture (DAG), financials (FAS), and large caps (BGU) offered nice returns. Relative strength was also seen in Russia (RSX), Mexico (EWW), India (INP), Sweden (EWD) and Australia (EWA).

In this week’s ETF screener. we find a few emerging trends that we can work with to better position our portfolios.

First, we see large cap growth stocks appear to be set to outperform the S&P 500. While small cap value stocks and mid cap value stocks could underperform the index. If you are deciding between a few stocks, bigger is better.

<>Since we are running low on cash I am looking at a few names that have held up in this abyss (shuffling money from the strong to the weak), to help raise some cash. In a real mutual fund I would hope to open the mail and see a whole slew of new cash coming in as investors see this is a “great buying opportunity” to get shares of Rising Tide Growth on the cheap ;) but since this is a closed system once I am low on cash I need to find more cash by selling something.
