Filed under: Stocks to Buy Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (CLNE), first discussed here on November 2, 2010, at a price of $14.75, have downtrended in minor bear-hug fashion, but I still like the business model.
Note: I consider Clean Energy to be a high-risk stock not suitable for moderate/low-risk investors. Don't consider CLNE if you can't tolerate a 30% to 50% drop in the stock's price; it could happen.

Whether you're a veteran investor, or simply tired of being jerked around by volatile oil prices , odds are by now you've heard the name T. Boone Pickens. He's the guy on television commercials encouraging the U.S. to break free of its dependence on oil by embracing alternative forms of energy . No big deal, except for one thing ... folks are starting to listen . While we'd love nothing more than to see the world embrace the idea of being 'green', our more immediate interest is in making some money with this paradigm shift . <> <> <> As it just so happens, there>>>...

<> During recent market turmoil and a meltdown in commodities , the Global Carbon ETN (GRN) has held up better than oil (USO) and natural gas (UNG), but fared slightly worse than the overall market as illustrated in the accompanying three-month chart. Key factors in the demand for carbon credits include overall power demand and the relationship between natural gas and coal prices since burning gas results in the release of less than half of the greenhouse emissions versus coal. Currently, the simplest way for power utilities >...

CLNE is starting to return after a tough second quarter earnings report. Bad news with earnings for the quarter and horrendous market conditions the last week and a half has made this stock CHEAP. I see 18 in the next few weeks. You could see a steady incline back to its average trading value of 16 in the last few weeks. Buy under 13 and you're seeing 18 in a few weeks.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp just completed their IPO on Friday with a less than stellar performance. However, I don't think that's a reflection on the company as much as just general economic conditions. That markets feel jittery to me, as though everyone's waiting for the other shoe to drop in such an extended bull run. I personally think we're way overdue for a decent correction. At any rate, CLNE is a provider of natural gas to fuel fleet automobiles, natural gas burning cars and some heavy-duty trucks. Their main claim to fame is that they have developed fueling technology that will ...
