A few of my readers have asked me to valuate and place price targets on shares of Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL).

Crown Holdings CCK - Annual Report) looks to me like the type of boring stock Peter Lynch would love. The company’s primary products include steel and aluminum cans for food, beverage, household and other consumer products and metal caps and closures.

Cans and bottle caps certainly don’t sound particularly glamorous. A glance at the recent producer price index report, however, shows that this industry has been steadily gaining pricing power over the last several years. <info_table> </info_table>

Fundamentals:  Worries about 1.) stagnant U.S. soda sales, 2.) smaller crop yields in Europe where 25% of sales originate from, 3.) rising raw material costs should result in a disappointing earnings release this week.

Technicals:  Failure to break a new high.  Institutional selling.  A lot of overhang should provide added resistance for the stock to move higher.  Momentum is bearish with 50 day moving average trend lower.
