AVAV has been a stock I have been watching for a very long time.  The company makes drone aircraft operated by remote controls.  Look for them to become apart of the border patrol's fleet of vehicles.  There are also possibilities that lasers can be mounted on the drones and protect planes from surface to air missiles.

I'm a bit early on this one.  Recent news should power AVAV through its 20 day sma and then test the 65 sma at $24 - if you believe in that stuff.  Longer term I'm looking for $26 a share.  Fundamental analysis to follow in another post.

The miltary contracts and probable FAA for unmanned planes is the growth story here. The battery technology business is growing at a smaller pace but there is even more opportunity with EV and hybrid cars. Keep an eye on wind technology for commercial and industrial buildings as another source of revenue. Also, this company was solid when it was private and has the benefit of Cal Tech brains behind its patents.

I mentioned yesterday I wanted to rebuild our AeroVironment (AVAV) position as the stock was down 10% from where we sold it last week, but saw a gap in the chart in the mid $30s which I thought would be filled. So I only moved it up from a 0.1% stake to 0.8% in the mid $32s. I put a limit order in the $30.70s yesterday and it is now filling.

Today the stock is down near 8% and in the mid $32s so I am slowly going to rebuild the position - the 50 day moving average is at $32 so normally this would be a nice entry point but Cramer nation lemmings made the stock gap up from $30.60s or so - and ...

One of the few sectors I feel safe in are the ones where the #1 (and hopefully #2, #3, and #4) customer is the unending pockets of the U.S. Government - no credit worries there! (cough). We have highlighted AeroVironment (AVAV) and Emergent BioSolutions (EBS) as our 2 names [EBS reports tomorrow and I'm hoping for some kind of bad news so I can get in cheaper]

I had let go almost our entire AeroVironment position last Thursday on the "Cramer pump" as his followers pile into a stock - we exited most of the position around $36 - I said at the time
