( AVA ) today reported net income of $25.9 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2009, compared to net income of $23.5 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2008. For the six months ended June 30, 2009, Avista Corp.’s net income was $56.9 million, or $1.04 per diluted share, compared to net income of $48.8 million or $0.91 per diluted share for the six months ended June 30, 2008. </font>
