China to Subsidize Wind Turbines

Pardon me while I remain extremely frustrated with a Congress that fights over passing any form of renewable energy subsidy extensions while the rest of the world races along into the future. We're too busy debating gas tax holidays. Grrr....
This is very positive news ... China has in a very short span moved to subsidize both solar and now wind. In the medium term this should be great news for A-Power Energy Generation (APWR) as it moves from sourcing wind components from Europe to China over the coming year - but for now the news will fall on deaf ears since people's timeframe is 6 minu...

Many of these small cap stocks, especially of the Chinese variety, have no institutional support whatsoever so they get batted around quite easily in this market. One of my long term favorites in A-Power Energy Generation Systems (APWR) which despite a bevy of good news is constantly sold off - I have my theories on what is going on with this stock which was highlighted quite profoundly as we showcased here - stocks do not usually fall nearly 25% in the first 5.5 hours of trading, only to rally 25% in the last hour - on no news. But since this is not a financial, the SEC could care less a...

The world no longer needs wind because crude is falling to the $120s. The hedge funds told me. I am going to stick my hand out, and ignore them, to catch the falling knife that is A-Power Energy Generation (APWR) - which is filling a gap in it's chart at $23. The stock is currently at the $23.30s range so that is close enough for me. This was the name that I did not cut back on in the low $30s last week, trying to curtail trading velocity in the fund, but this market smirked at that decision as all gains must be harvested, lest said gains are quickly demolished within a few days.
As the ...

I'm trying to build a 3 position basket of "alternative energy" <!---->(non-solar) names. I started this basket with a small stake in American Superconductor (AMSC) which I actually added a bit to here as it pulls back to $36 and fills a gap from June 9th. [Jun 12: Starting a Beachhead in American Superconductor (AMSC)] I am adding A-Power Energy Generation Systems (APWR). Here is a generalized description<><>A-PowerEnergy Generation Systems, Ltd., formerly Chardan South ChinaAcquisition Corp., through its PRC operating subsidiaries, is thelargest provider of distributed power generation syst>>...

As wind energy has lagged other forms or renewable energy in recent years, it is now on the the front burner. With such names T. Boone Pickens now starting to invest large sums of money in the space, and the press that will follow, I feel quite sure that wind energy will be the next sector to move sharply to the upside over the next 1 to 2 years. <> APWR is already profitable, and will be bringing it's new manufaturing facility on line in the 3rd qtr of 2008. The company has a low share float, and already has a large back log of orders. This stock can move very quickly so research A><>>...
