Trading at a price to sales of .5 compared to intel of over 4. Will be selling the fabs for a huge cash infusion, has the best gpu and very competitive in the cpu market. With no viable competitors other intel and nvidia this stock below 10 is a no-brainer.

Now that AMD has just annouced their CEO swallowed more than he can chew. What next? bigtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2008/07/17/new-amd-chief-likes-getting-his-hands-dirty/ Will AMD become the nex PC Dinosaur? I hope not. We need another PC company to keep Intel honest. Where would Coke be without Pepsi? Boeing without Airbus? Visa without MasterCard? Heck even DC versus Marvel Comics! How low can AMD go? Sure they could go to Zero in the next two years. Their Finacials are a mess, they are losing more money than they are making, but at least they still have inn ...

No one beleives AMD until they see a profit or a significant improvement at ATI. It's a mid-term underperformer. I beleive AMD will flip it though, I like its products. Intel controls the cash generating part of the supply chain though.

Now there is a good reason for the price slash.. management has performed miserably.. but a loss of 80% to share value is an over shoot. This is still a market of two players (AMD and Intel) and AMD is one successful product away from bouncing back. a 100% bounce back wouldn't surprise me at all..

Merrill Lynch chip analyst Srini Pajjuri this morning cut his rating on Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to Underperform from Neutral, while moving Analog Devices (ADI) in the other direction, to Neutral from Underperform. Pajjuri notes that ADI is down nearly 30% since early June; he says the valuation now “mostly reflects our margin and growth concerns.” He notes that the stock trades at 12x EV/FCF, a discount to other analog chip stocks. He points out that ADI boasts strong free cash flow and a 3% dividend yield, and that ADI has limited exposure to consumer and PC markets As for AMD, Pajjuri ...

Advanced Micro: Mfg Spinoff Coming Soon?
|
|
|
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) may be close to announcing a spin-off of its manufacturing operations.
As noted by the Austin American-Statesman, Jefferies analyst John Lau wrote in a research report yesterday that his sources say a plan to spin manufacturing could come within two weeks. Lau said that the company would create a new company that would consist of its two chip fabs in Dresden, Germany. He also wrote that a Middle East investment group may acquire a large portion of the new company, providing cash that would be used to pay down debt. The Stateman said an AMD spokesman had no comme ...

Short sellers flee Intel (INTC)
Filed under: Apple Inc (AAPL), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), Intel (INTC), Advanced Micro Dev (AMD) Very few companies had a decrease in the size of their shares sold short as Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) had. The numbers compare data from July 31 with figures from August 15. The change is a bit odd because Intel's shares trade in the middle of their 52-week price range, changing hands at $23.15. So far this year, the company's stock price is down almost 15%. There is evidence that PC sales are growing. Hewlett Packard (NYSE: HP) recently announced earnings. Its computer business did well, especially in Asia ...
