When people were asked about internet success stories in the nineties (and early noughties), they would talk about random stocks such as Amazon.com, Yahoo.com, LastMinute.com and Boo.com, the once-adored online seller of clothes. But when the bubble burst around the start of the new millennium, ...

As a non-American who often looks up American finance-related sites for share ideas, I often hear of this legendary figure in the investing community, Jim Cramer. He is one of the most omnipresent financial gurus in American media. Yet, I’ve done some research on the internet, and it turns ou...

When we say China, what do we think of? Do we think of Mao Zedong’s lentil soup or do we think of giant skyscrapers in Hong Kong or Shanghai? China is investing in construction projects like it was 1999 (that seems like a bad reference, don’t mention that crash again), and steel and con...

I believe all the major American insurance companies are due for a major positive correction. Why? Their P/Es are at all time lows (The Chubb Corp is at 7.5), and at the same time their profits are staying strong, and the companies are paying out reliable dividends. Since the start of the current ...

Hi, Shane here,
I am an investing-enthusiast who regularly keeps track of the stock market and related events. I am doing well with my account at Socialpicks , and am currently the 6th most successful investor who uses the site of all time. Of course, you should always do your research before investing on my advice, as I am an amateur investor and don’t even invest in the stocks I recommend (I’m only 15).
At the moment, I am recommending financial (especially insurance) stocks, mining, consumer non-cyclical , large-cap pharmaceuticals and building materials providers. However, most technology stocks, such as Yahoo, Ebay, Google and Amazon are vastly overvalued and could be victims of another tech bubble bursting.
