"...AMD has once again taken the technological lead." Incredible. No further reading of the 'report' is necessary. =/ With the release of their new line-up, AMD have come closer in terms of performance to Intel's *previous generation* products. Most benchmarks and real-world tests seem to corroborate this fact. I love AMD as a company (mostly because it sometimes help betting against Intel the Goliath), but not a stock. On the other hand, the new videocards (HD4850 and 4870) are guaranteed to be good sellers (they're extremely well priced) if AMD manages to produce enough and keep the distribution channels flowing, unlike what it did with Barcelona. But then I also do not know how much of it's revenue comes from the ATi Division... so there. I have been shorting (on paper anyway) since about a year now. I think I am going to ride this down some more. As of today and now, it is reeling, down 7% from open at $5.43. NASDAQ is down 1.6% at 2263. |
