The Board of Directors of <org> Wellman, Inc. </org> (NYSE: WLM) has decided not to declare a dividend in the fourth quarter of 2007. The Board concluded that this action is prudent in light of Wellman's operating performance during the third quarter and its current debt levels.

FORT MILL, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

<org> Wellman, Inc. </org> (NYSE:WLM) today announced that, effective with December 15, 2007 shipments, it will increase the price of all Fortrel(R) polyester staple fiber products by an additional 4 cents/lb.

Steve Ates, Vice President Sales and Marketing, made the announcement noting, "The increase previously announced for December 1 has been insufficient to offset the continued rapid acceleration in the cost of Ethylene Glycol, a primary raw material used in the manufacture of polyester staple fiber."
