I'm far from an expert on green technology, but as someone who does value looking to do things "cleaner" Maxwell is a play I'm going to make. Their investment in ultracapacitors could be a home run by replacing the car battery in a standard vehicle, but even if the auto industry keeps that from being a reality any time soon, they could still provide valuable storage of energy for other applications such as renewable energy storage and green public transportation vehicles.
MXWL is down from its $20 price in September '06 after issuing more stock due to a cash crunch. Many people saw this as a weakness and bailed, but I see it as a positive because the part of the problem was the high volume of orders and their R&D efforts. I see this is a great time to take advantage of a company that I can feel good about owning, especially at this price.
