eBay has spent big bucks on lots of fringe businesses, but somehow can't seem to make it all work together. PayPal was a no-brainer, but Skype is proving to be a challenge for integration and monetization. There is probably a play here, but I can't say what the winning strategy is. I have personally been disappointed with Skype's service quality and find the eBay site needing a v2.0, as it is showing its age.
