Countrywide Financial a Bargain

Analyst

Rumour has it that Countrywide Financial will eventually go bankrupt with the most recent backdrop in credit and lequidity in the marketplace.  Fortunately, Countrywide is a very well run company with the most exposure to subprime mortgages only because it is the largest mortgage broker, but you will find that only a relatively small percentage of their portfolio is actually invested in subprime.  Countrywide will survive this credit crisis and in turn absorb many smaller mortgage brokers and end up larger and stronger than it was before this credit crisis.  This company is now extremely undervalued and now is a good purchasing point.
