Sunrise Consulting Group Inc. Prepares to Enter U.S. PV Solar Markets

NEWPORT BEACH, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/03/09 -- Sunrise Consulting Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SNRS) announced today that its planned subsidiary United Power Solar expects to provide residential and commercial customers with both off-grid and on-grid solar systems, with emphasis on the latter.
The Public Utility Commission kick-started the PV Solar electric boom in the residential/commercial on-grid market with its introduction of Net Energy Metering (NEM). NEM connects homeowners and commercial entities directly to the electrical supplier's grid, allowing them to store their excess production without batteries. Residential and small business customers are accustomed to paying per kilowatt hour for their energy usage, either on a Tier Structure, which increases charges per kilowatt hour based on consumption, or on a Time of Use system, which bases charges on kilowatt usage on quantity at the time it is consumed.
Solar electric systems like those to be marketed by United Power Solar provide on-site production of electricity that offsets the customer's electrical consumption. As a result, customers with sufficient roof spacing can virtually eliminate their electric bills by going solar. Current government incentives sweeten the deal considerably, including state utility rebates of up to 15-20% of the cost of the system and a Federal tax credit of 30% of the system cost minus the state rebate. With electric rates going up an average of 6.5% per year over the last 30 years and expected increases of up to 30% in the top tiers, the savings can be quite substantial. The company also plans to provide its customers with a one-stop shopping service by offering access to easy warranty and financing options.
