Many (most) computer companies (DELL, IBM, HP, etc) are slowly waking up to the new way that computing is being delivered - via the "cloud" - but Amazon has been pioneering for this for many years. With Amazon's experience and scale, it's going to be very hard for new entrants to compete (MSFT and ORCL for example), except at the higher Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) levels. By the end of this year, expect the market to wake up to the fact that Amazon has become not just the way things are sold, but also the way information is computed and distributed. (Remember that CEO Jeff Bezos is a Computer Scientist at heart, and book seller second).
