Citi Trends, Inc. is a retailer of urban fashion apparel and accessories for the entire family. The Company offers branded products from brands in the United States, as well as private label products and a limited assortment of home decor items. Citi Trends' merchandise offerings are designed to appeal to the preferences of fashion conscious consumers, particularly African-Americans. The Company's stores average approximately 9,900 square feet of selling space and are typically located in neighborhood shopping centers may appeal to low- to moderate-income customers. During the fiscal year ended February 2, 2008 (fiscal 2007), Citi Trends opened 42 stores and entered the states of Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. As of February 2, 2008, the Company operated 319 stores in both urban and rural markets in 20 states.

Within apparel, the Company offers men’s, women’s, which includes dresses, sportswear and plus-sized offerings, and children’s, which includes offerings for infants, toddlers, boys and girls. Citi Trends also offers accessories, which includes intimate apparel, handbags, hats, jewelry, footwear, toys, belts and sleepwear, as well as a limited assortment of home décor, which includes giftware, lamps, pictures, mirrors and figurines.
The Company competes with TJX Companies, Inc., Ross Stores, Inc. Rainbow, Dots, Fashion Cents, It’s Fashions!, Simply Fashions, Wal-Mart and Kmart.
