I currently am a timber buyer for a company in the southeast. Things here are starting to pick back up. I have noticed that companies that purchased timber before the market started down hill are now harvesting them. What this means is that there is enough profit now from the finished product vs. what they paid for it one year ago. Other timber companies like meadwestvaco and international paper will follow in the coming weeks they will be a little slower.
