Goldman signaling lower...

They may be the "smartest guys in the room", but, the chart looks like a top is in place and it will be increasingly difficult to escape the write off's and negative business environment. We would be negative on GS on any strength. We would look at buildiing negative positions on any bounce.

We hear that July may have been one of the worst trading months in years for GS. They are still the big dog on the trading porch, but, we'll see what happens if GS breaks $150 on the downside. Our signals say they move lower in the next few weeks.

On Tuesday afternoon after the close, Goldman downgraded almost every major broker on the street: Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch. Our view is that "if" things are really that bad for the brokers...Goldman Sachs is experiencing challenges also. We featured GS as a short in tonight's newsletter at Supertradetimer.com.
