The accompanying tables present my 29-company, market cap-weighted Global Animal Care Index , which includes companies with market caps between $100 million to $10 billion US Dollars -- excluding all big pharma companies which have animal health segments (such as Pfizer and Schering-Plough) to make the index more leveraged to the animal care industry. My Global Animal Care Index has outperformed both the Healthcare Sector SPDR (XLV) and iShares S&P Global Healthcare (IXJ) exchange-traded funds over the past year with a weighted return of 4% (through 8/8/08), versus declines of 1% and 3%, respectively, for the benchmark healthcare funds.
