There are a couple of emerging battery companies that have gotten peoples attention. I like HEV for its R&D excellence (I'm a sucker for design what can I say). Cramer also gave it a thumbs up which makes me a little nervous about how many ups and downs HEV will have before finally posting a profit. ;-)

The one advantage I see to this company over other lithium ion (Li-ion) battery manufacturers is its ties to Delphi. Once (IF) GM gets itself back into shape (its only got 15 months), HEV has a direct tie to automotive hybrid lines which would be a big boost to its bottom line. The only forseable thing that is keeping this stock from rising (other than its -EPS) is the delphi/GM mess and EEStor's threat of ultracapacitor technology....so this maybe a short run up or a prelude to something better!
