Metal prices are poised to go higher

DBB tracks aluminum,copper and zinc.

Copper

Chile is the largest producer of copper.Chile is facing power shortages which will hamper production.China will continue to grow at 5%+ rates even after the US slows down,the infrastructure spending in energy rich countries like Russia,the middle east will continue unabated and the US infrastructure is in shambles which at some point will have to be remedied.

"Limited" power shortages will continue till 2012 when coal powered plants will kick in.

Zinc prices are currently on the decline but if you believe in the global infrastructure story zinc is a buy.

Aluminum prices are closely linked to energy prices.It is one of the most energy intensive metals to extract from its ore alumina.So it is no wonder that its prices are on the increase.
