Re: Why have i done so well? one word08/12/08
sure, if that is how you view it. i see it differently, which is why i've made on over 30 stocks in the past 3 weeks an average of 8% (including LNY and CKXE--both 30% in 20 days).
And about analysts, many of the deals i've picked have analysts who show positive support of the deal. Just because a stock trades below the takeover price, doesnt mean it is a bad stock. if you'll notice that i ...
Re: Safety first!08/08/08
only 3 dollars, are you crazy?
Look at my calculations, i have em pegged at around 3.50-4.25 based on earnings and estimates.
The reason you got crushed in the last 24 hours is because investors have mentally tied this stocks price to oil, causing it to fluctuate with the oil prices. but keep in there, and in less than a year you'll have a solid return
Re: Why have i done so well? one word08/08/08
look at LNY today! killer! 10% gain, and it has shot past the 20% gained mark in just 17 days. that comes along with my CKXE pick, up 30% in 18 days! as i like to say with merger investing, "RIDE THE BULL"
Re: Why have i done so well? one word08/07/08
Yes, the deals in the market today look like they have a harder shot at going through than in the market we had in the past. however, if a deal looks like it will result in a company which will generate a favorable amount of revenue, than the deal will go through, no matter what market, because there will be no doubt that the company can pay back whatever debt it raised to fund the deal. that...
Re: Conservative investor? take the dividends07/30/08
Actually, the cap gains tax will likely see a large increase in the next presidential administration and "letting the company decide when to give dividends" isnt a fair statement. if a company shows significant growth and their dividend trends with that growth, then there is a much better average gain on a dividend stock as opposed to a non-dividend.
