First, good for you to try to check it out. CIT-a is, be assured, no "microstock"; it is a prefered stock from Citigroup. Citibank preferred (CIT-A) has a Current Yeld of 20.1% and a known Capital Gain of 216.9% (call date 9-15-2010). So, unless you believe the largest bank in the US (by holdings) is facing bankruptcy, this is a safe play you could consider -- especailly given the insecurity in the market, and if you're intending to retire in 10 years or less (or already retired).
