I don't. I actually haven't been very active in this recently. I'd like to start playing with it more though.

No, I just pick companies I believe at and go long with them. At the same time I am researching other companies. And in case I have a company in my portfolio whose stock skyrocketed for no reason, other then stock manipulation, I sell this stock and buy the stock of the new company and its stocks' target price I believe to be achievable.

I don't have an optimizer for my social picks portfolio... yet... but that's an intersting idea. My company actually has developed a neat optimizer tool, which allows a few methodologies. The first is traditional mean variance optimization using a Monte Carlo simulation of various combinations of assets in a portfolio, which then shows the efficient frontier. The second is a Black Litterman implied views reverse optimization. The main concept there is to assume that the existing portfolio is optimal and to see what this implies about the portfolio manager's implied view of markets. If the implied view is not realistic, or consistent with the actual view, the allocaions can be iteratively changed. Hope this is useful!

In socialpicks, no. I use socialpicks as a notebook to put down thoughts on interesting stocks and place bets on them.
